Hey You!!! Yes you, UP Student!
Text your fellow classmates. Text your fellow dormmates. Text your neighbors. Text family and friends. For the sake of UP Athletics and the tremendous careers of student-athletes Angie Woznuk and Stephanie Lopez, send out emails with a gazillion addresses on them. PLEASE!!! Don't let North Carolina get the best of us again. They may have a far bigger student body, but not as big as the hearts of Pilot students, staff, community and fans. This is a campaign of PRIDE. For your school. For your community. And for the wonderful and deserving Angie and Stephanie. VOTE FOR THEM BOTH, NOW AND EVERY DAY UNTIL 11/21/2007!!!

Re: Lowe's Senior Class Award! VOTE!
I just don't believe these results. There are NO fans more dedicated to their soccer team than Pilot fans!!! Just on attendance numbers alone....we should be sweeping the vote on this!!!! It just doesn't make sense! There must be a conspiracy?!! UNC's and Illinios's Athletic and IT Departments must be in bed together on this. They must've programmed voting scripts to run all day!!

GUPhantom,
You shouldn't be too shocked.
The enrollment at Illinois is 62,000, The UNC system is around 65,000.
UP is doing pretty good, if they take that into account.
Still--Keep on voting!!!

Speaking of charity and outreach, is there a 'project' or fundraiser this year? I was able to donate in 2005, but couldn't last year due to the local nature of it.

Re: Lowe's Senior Class Award! VOTE!
I don't know everyone. This is smelling very fishy. Except for Jessica Maxwell of UNC....does Illinois and Charlotte even know that they have a women's soccer team??
On a serious note...the gals are all deserving of the award! Some of the resumes are unbelievable! What an acheivement it is to be both academically and athletically successful! How they do that? Unfortunately...I didn't have the talent to do either well!
Congratulations to who ever wins! Well deserved!

Re: Lowe's Senior Class Award! VOTE!
Yes, something is up with that voting. I vote on 16 computers a day here at work and it seems to make no difference at all. Angie and Stephanie are down to 6% today. I tried turning off the cookies as a previous poster suggested, but that did not work. When you get to the security code with cookies off it seems to go into a loop bringing up new codes and never recording the vote. Anyone else have a suggestion? I wonder if they weigh the coaches votes differently?

Re: Lowe's Senior Class Award! VOTE!
With the help of a friend at work we figured out how to vote multiple times a day from one computer. You need to have cookies turned on, but after each vote you need to delete the Senior Class Award cookie. In Firefox you do it by going to Tools>Options>Show Cookies>then highlight the Senior Class Award Cookie and push the Remove Cookies button. You are then good to vote again. In Internet Explorer it is a more complicated process so if you want to vote for Angie and Stephanie more than once a day I suggest you download Firefox.

Re: Lowe's Senior Class Award! VOTE!
Despite our best efforts the Pilots are not rising in the fan voting and in fact are being caught by players from the other schools. The Lowe's website indicates that the Media and Coaches also vote. I emailed the website to ask if the votes of the Coaches was weighted more than the fan vote since a person from a small school would apparently never have a chance to win the fan vote (based on our experience this year).
Here was their response: "Coaches may be more objective, this is why the media, coaches and the sponsor make up a largest portion of the voting formula.
In Basketball (which, has been in existence much longer) there have been small school winners. IE: Duke, St Joseph's, and Xavier. Last year's Lacrosse winner was from Cornell.
Small School candidates can and do win the award, but they often do not win the fan vote outright..."
This still gives me hope that a Pilot may yet win this award.

Re: Lowe's Senior Class Award! VOTE!
Thanks for checking with the website. It gives added encouragement that size isn't all that matters.
Your list of "small schools isn't all that encouraging. Though Xavier might be close to UP's size, all the rest are considerably larger schools. The largest, Cornell, has an enrollment over 20,000.
Still, I keep voting twice a day, (i've found you can vote about every 8-12 or so hrs).
I encourage the rest of you to do the same.
Go Pilots!!
