ESPN Commentary

Post by UPSoccerFanatic on Sat Nov 07, 2009 12:39 pm

I came home last night after the game and watched the first half and part of the second on ESPN U. I thought the commentary was excellent. I liked in particular the regular talk about the Pilots style of play, which they called the European style.

What great coverage of the game by ESPNU. They really said very nice things about the program. I think we looked great too!

BTW, I work for Comcast so if you don't want to deal with Dish or waiting for HD call me! 866-727-9840 and ask for opperator ID 994. I will hook you up with our best deals, no BS!

I really liked the graphic that they put up to show the Pilot per game scoring average-

"High Flying Pilots"

We need to bring back the Pilot wheel or something. We are Riverboat Pilots, not airline Pilots.

I've never watched a Pilot game on FSC, so I have nothing to compare with...but I thought the whole production was decent, wouldn't really expect anything more from a women's college soccer game. I know, we all love our Pilot soccer, but I can't see ESPN justifying putting too much money into it. I would be willing to bet SportsCenter shows women's college soccer highlights twice a year. Maybe once if they choose not to show highlights of the championship game. Maybe never if BYU and UNM never match up.

The reason I have dish is because I had Comcast before. I don't get Comcast out here anyway.

I also thought the broadcast was pretty good. Not really in HD, though. Just the bars on the side. Sad

Does anyone know if the first/second round of the playoffs for UP be available via video even if we don't get an opportunity to play at home?

purplerose,

If memory serves me correctly, the last couple years ALL Pilot play-off games, whether home or away, are televised by Comcast's "Comcast Sports Net" on cable channel 37.

If we made it to the finals it would be on ESPN or ESPN2.

Someone should be able to verify that for me.
