Rev on 95.5 today at 1:20pm

I just got word: Rev will be on Wheels at Work promoting Saturday’s open scrimmage and talking Pilot hoops.

Notes from the interview:

-The senior-laden team has been working hard this week with two-a-day practices, including classroom, floor and weight room time. Seniors are providing leadership to the younger guys.

-Rev acknowledged that GU has been dominant, deserves respect and recognizes the good they have done for the league. GU is the measuring stick, and Rev is looking forward to seeing how we measure up to them.

-Rev confirmed that you cant vote for your own team in the Coaches poll, and that he did vote for Gonzaga as 1st place. He stated that he also believes GU voted for UP , and the 1 other coach was probably SCU's Keating.

-Coaching continuity in the program is huge. Rev thanked the AD for allowing asst. coaches to stay.

-Luke Sikma has the opportunity to improve exponentially this year.

-Focus is winning the WCC this year, not the WCC tourney, not a NCAA tourney spot.

-95.5 is working on getting Rev on the air every week during the season.

Good stuff. Rev is great in these interviews! A weekly appearance on 95.5 would be awesome, and it is no small thing that the AD has stepped up (read: $$$) and allowed the coaching staff to stick around.

Few 100% did vote for us. He couldn't vote for GU and no other team had a #1 vote.
