Skeet or Trap Shooters on PN?
Is anyone on PilotNation interested in shooting sports, particularly skeet or trap? It doesn't seem like many people shoot, but I am curious if anyone here does.
I specifically enjoy shooting skeet. I used to shoot competitively (not at an elite level, but I shot registered targets). After I left home for college I didn't really have the ability to shoot. Also, I haven't recently had the money to shoot (that whole poor college student thing).
Any shooters out there?

I get out and shoot clays a couple times a year and would go more often if I could, but that's about the extent of it.

DTR, that is trap. I'll let it slide this time. Also, I appreciate the Duck Hunt reference.

SP11, I shoot trap occasionally. I will try skeet some day.

Having shot and kept score for both, I find skeet to be a superior game. IMO, skeet is a game that requires a more diverse set of skills, it is a game that is not based so much on perfection (which results in less high-strung shooters, in competition) and it is a more social and fun game in general. I definitely recommend it.
I really don't know where I was going with this thread, just so you guys know that...

What is your opinion of sporting clays? I have thrown targets for it, but never shoot it. Looks like shotgun golf.

Oh man, if that's a requirement for posts on here, we will all be in trouble...

Shotgun golf is exactly the way I have heard it described. Unfortunately, I've never shot. Every summer I tell my dad that "THIS" is the summer we finally shoot sporting clays. It has yet to happen. I'm sure that it is quite humbling, as a shooter, and I really want to... next summer...
