Michigan coach (and former USA coach ) Greg Ryan lost it, I think.

His young team played USC and he went off on the reffing in that game. Apparently he thought the USC players weren't polite and ladylike.

“We won’t play against a team that plays more physically than USC,” Ryan said. “They’re just a bunch of beaters. They took a lot of cheap shots. They were fouling from behind all the time – the refs let them get away with it. And so our players had to learn to deal with the physical aspect of that game. And I thought they did really well. … The refs were the 12th man today for USC.”

I wonder if the league or the school will do anything to him.

I don't think Ryan said much that those of us who saw the game at USC in 2007 didn't also say. USC in that game engaged in a lot of rough play, including two-handed pushes in the back of players who were chasing balls out of bounds on the side-line. The refs didn't call blatant fouls like that in that game. The interesting thing was that last year at Merlo, USC did not engage in that kind of stuff. My conclusion was it was intentional home-field tactics in 2007. I think there's a thread on this somewhere on PN.

Complaining about refs is soooo las year. If you don't like the refereeing in 2009 you threaten to shove a ball down their throat.

Greg Ryan deserves any bad karma the universe sends his way for benching Hope Solo against Brazil. Not that I hold a grudge.
