Re: Update on recruits
Yeah, wow an extra year of development should do wonders for that kid. He is such an athletic spark for the team and really has that penchant for the incredible play that nobody else on the roster can quite pull off!
Bah this season needs to start YESTERDAY....

Re: Update on recruits
I think BJ will be very good athletic stopper and circus dunk man. If you saw the size of his Dad (He's 6'9") and was a pretty fair athlete himself. He was on the Men's team that didn't get to play in the 80 Olympic's because of the Boycott. BJ's has some great pedigree, I just wish he were about two inches taller.....Shipshad he was the Utah state champ in his class in the High Jump clearing 6'10"
. A few of the player's were in awe of his jumping ability when he first entered UP the summer of 07.I think now they are used to it, and throw up anything close to the basket because they know who will be much higher than anyone they play.Except probably all 15 zag players and their redshirts of course.

Re: Update on recruits
High jump, I knew he did one or the other. That is a CRAZY height!
You're right about those 2 inches, that would be perfect.

Re: Update on recruits
I hate to be a negative nancy, but if he were 2 inches taller, the chances of UP being able to nab him in the first place would have been significantly lower...

How BJ Porter can get two inches taller:

Re: Update on recruits
Eat a whole bunch of carrots everday.
, use an inversion boot hanging device or the Rack. Let his hair grow out like RJ demonstrates. (I know Mesa will get grief for that statement from the Politically Correct Nancy Pelosi/Hillary Clintons of Oregon). It's just a joke, I'm sure BJ would not take offense since he was the roomate his first term freshman year of someone I have a little connection to. He is just not that sensitive if one ever desides to meet him or his dad.
Finally, take the nickname " stretch" and wear "special" shoes with 2 inch Dr Scholl's pads in them. He could borrow 2 inches from T.J. but then T.J. would only be 5'6"

Re: Update on recruits
While looking at Scout.com for Riley Barker, I also noticed a verbal commit recorded from Tanner Riley from Snoqualmie. 6'3" SG. Commit date today. Did we already discuss him and I've forgotten, or is this another new player?

Re: Update on recruits
Tanner Riley junior year stats: 24 ppg; 40+% on 3FGA; 50+% on 2FGA. Sounds like a good scorer. LINK

Tanner Riley
Confirming the commitment:

Bringing us to 5 and also confirming, I assume, that Smeulders will not get an extra year--maybe I missed that if someone else posted it.

Re: Update on recruits
Tanner looks like a great get for Rev. I think with Tanner,John Bailey, and the Gonzaga Prep kid up front he has set themselves up well after Luke,Kramer, and Jasonn graduate. Wow looking at him on those highlights after another year of seasoning it looks like Tanner may be able to step in and help on the wing with Ethan gone and when BJ needs some rest. I believe with his talent and Brad Scotts training program, Revs help, he might be the "MONSTER"
player along with Shamburger to bring the Pilots up to the next level.( NCAA qualifier,WCC contender, etc) JMHO.
But, then its back to reality remembering the Highlights are against HS kid's. Although they are only his JR yr highlights though.
