Dwight never mentioned that Avina actually gave the kid the ticket.

Agreed... nice input from Dwight on this topic.

It's kind of a tough topic... on one hand, you need to enforce the rules. But on the other hand, you hope that the enforcement of those rules is equitable. It just seems like every time a school gets really hammered by the NCAA, it's a mid-major. I mean... there was a wide-spread cheating scandal at Florida State, and the Seminoles are b*tching about the vacating of some wins, which is a totally hollow gesture anyway, just because Bobby Bowden is up there with Paterno for win total. I mean... how about you take away some scholarships instead of vacating wins, which is just symbolic anyway - hit 'em where it hurts. But no... and we don't even need to mention the USC Reggie Bush/OJ Mayo stuff. It's been, what, a three or four year investigation now?

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but, I really don't see the mid-majors getting hammered more than the bigger schools. Actually, I think that having to give up wins or bowl eligibility can be a big deal. It's taken UW years to recover. I mean seriously 0-12 last season...arguably the worst team in the nation. And this started so long ago, that a lot of recruits cannot even remember the early '90s when the team was actually good anymore. They have to watch video...

But, hey there are so many U of O fans in Oregon, that this example is probably discarded to some people... It is what it is. Just because it's taken a long time to look into the Reggie Bush situation, doesn't mean that nothing will come of it...or that it hasn't been horrendously embarrassing for many people involved.
