MLS All Star Game is Wednesday 7/29/09 6:30 pm PST on ESPN2

This is a great way for Portlanders who follow soccer but not the MLS to get aquainted with some of the best players of the league as the All Stars take on Everton. Kasey Keller will be there among others, and I'm sure Portland will be well represented. Unless Colorado's Casey Conor has national team duties, I'm guessing he'll be there as well...

MLS All Stars almost always win and have beat some impressive teams like Celtic...

They also beat Fullham, Chelsea, CD Guadalajara (Aka Chivas) and West Ham...

And Conor Casey will be there, he was voted into the first XI selected...

Pretty entertaining night, especially Howard's save on Ljungberg's penalty at the end.

MLS still has a 6-game unbeaten streak if you want to get technical and call this a draw...

Kasey Keller is the first non-college player I've seen go into a game twice.

He played the first half, then had to go back in when Zack Thorton pulled a hammie (I can lip read).

He made a stop in the shootout, then watched Freddy Ljungberg get saved by Tim Howard.


Conor Casey head butted Howard playfully during the game and they both laughed.

How old is Cuahtémoc Blanco - like 83?

I still like to watch him play.
