I like the scarf idea, too... I do know that the bookstore/Athletic Department is working on that front, too...

I generally agree, DTR, on sticking to Purple and White. But maybe a little accent color or something, depending on the design...

One T-shirt, please, whatever the cost -- but hold the scarf. If we could have the shirts by season ticket holder day, that would be sweet.

There is a website where you can design your scarf and they will produce them for you on a modular basis. Ill try to find it again and post. I have a villa scarf maybe we can adapt those or find out where they had theirs done up.

As for the PN t-shirt I think Pilot Nut has the logo already done. Just use the same alphabet to to spell PilotNation

That would be pretty cool BUT we may run into a problem with the font being a copyright of both the university and nike... And by them letting us use the font it could show endorsement, which could potentially get them in trouble (especially when we get into our in depth recruiting discussions and whatnot). I know it's stupid, but the whole reason they abandoned the pinwheel was because it wasn't copywritten, the new font is... if we sell the shirts it could potentially wrangle up some legal issues (even if they are just being sold at cost...)

I'm not sure if we can ask the university, haha but again that could be a lot more trouble than it's worth...

Yo Nut... so when designing the shirt, would we be able to use the new logo? (I think I already know the asnwer, but I wanted to make totally sure.)

From the tag it looks like the same place as the TA (and nearly everyone else) does theirs.

This is an unofficial underground site. I am sure the University could easily disavow anything that happens on here. Best way to get a no answer on permission to use the P logo is ask permission. I know the p logo is copyrighted but I doubt they copyrighted the whole font. I could be wrong but who cares really. Think practically and not completely legalistic ( I am a lawyer btw) would the university bother with lawsuits against its own supporters for wearing an unofficial shirt?

DTR, I am not sure how Nike would be involved unless we are committed to using a Nike swoosh shirt. Under Armor and Champion both have pilot copyrighted logos on them. Personally I like the Under Armor stuff. I think the fabric is better quality than what Nike uses.

Having said that I will retract my earlier statement about ignoring the University in all this.

They have a site all about use of the athletic brand and it would just be easier to get permission from The Marketing and Communications Department and ask for a template. I think they might be more cooperative than I originally thought.

I just got the scoop on who to contact if we want to use the university's branded logo or font anywhere on the shirt. Beth Connell in marketing. Otherwise we can come up with our own original stuff. Nobody owns the colors purple and white.
