Fan Forum Conference Call Tuesday
This is very cool... I hope a lot of fans call in for this event, and that we get more of them in the future!! Set your calendars for tomorrow night!
Women’s Soccer Fan Forum Set for Tuesday at 7:30 PM
University of Portland women’s soccer fans will have an opportunity to call in and ask questions to coach Garrett Smith and selected players in the first-ever LIVE Fan Forum on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. Fans can call-in and talk directly to Coach Smith as he discusses the team’s spring training and next season’s expectations as the team prepares to host the United States Under-23 National Team on Saturday at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.
Fans can dial in toll-free anytime beginning at 7:30 p.m. to 1-877-229-8493 and enter the PIN 14784. Fans will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to all players and coaches participating on the call, as well as participate in fan polls and get other exclusive information about the women’s soccer program.
The Fan Forum is expected to last approximately one hour, or until all the questions have been answered.

Re: Fan Forum Conference Call Tuesday
This is definitely something fans should do. It's very, very cool that they are doing this for us, but we need to take advantage of it! I'm expecting lots of good questions from everyone.
And spread the word too... the more people that call in, the more likely they will do stuff like this for us again!

Re: Fan Forum Conference Call Tuesday
Anybody know the format/technology? . Speaker phone with everyone talking at the same time?. Or will you just be plugged into the coaches one v. one. It seems the appeal of the event would be for everyone to hear the questions clearly one at a time and the answer without any back round noise?

I'm guessing it'll be a radio talk show format, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Fan Forum Conference Call Tuesday
I dont know the specific format, but I think Geezer is probably right... all call-in listeners will be in "listen only" mode, and then can push something on the phone if/when they want to ask a question, and then they will be called on by the operator...
The technology being used has already been used by some pro sports teams, so I think it will be a good presentation.... I would love to see a pre-season call, as well...

That is very cool. It doesn't seem like much notice though. How else have they publicized this event? I'll call in and invite a few friends...

If you were a season ticket holder, you got notice of it a couple of weeks ago.

Hmmm, maybe I should offer a reward for anyone who can work the phrase "Pilot Nation dot net" into the call/broadcast...

This really beats finishing up my taxes on Turbotax by a longshot... I'm really excited about the season now. If anyone road trips to see games at UW, let me know. I'll be there.
34% say that this player will be our leading scorer next year:

Will that prediction come true?

Re: Fan Forum Conference Call Tuesday
Bravo! Very nice production... Jason Brough did a great job leading the call, and Coach and the players were their usual classy selves, and gave thoughtful, honest answers!
It was great to thear them talking about the fans so much... we are so lucky to have such smart, dedicated fans.... and in case anyone doubted it, they said with no uncertainty that the loud crowd DOES impact the game...!!!
Congrats to the Athletic Department for putting this on. I vote for more of them.

Yes! Bravo! Loved it! Very informative! Great questions by the callers! And even more insightful answers by Coach, Keelin and Kelsey! It'll be nice if they could do something like this on a regular basis during the coarse of the season...pre-game?...post-game? Rotate players?
GO PILOTS!!!
