basketball tonight

Post by PurpleGeezer on Tue Mar 03, 2009 7:34 pm

I thought I'd watch the Zag- Carolina upstate game tonight just to get primed up for the Tournament. The Zags were beating CU 27-7 which was ok with me, but then I made the mistake of listening to the announcers.

Oh God!

Few should have been COY Bouldin was clearly player of the year, 10 zags should have been on the first team.

I thought I'd puke. the game was unwatchable.

Who the hell are these guys?

Is it on FSN? Than it's Greg Heister and Craig Ehlo, who are paid to be Zag homers. So... not surprising. They make watching the Zag games pretty unbearable. Heister is borderline OK, but Ehlo... Ehlo is just pure pain to listen to.

Geezer, I was doing the same thing... I had to change the channel after Ehlo started talking about that. At least Heister stated he agreed with Rev getting COY.

But I cant stand Heister & Ehlo... I cant believe they keep getting hired back every year! Even many of the GU folks cant stand them...

Those guys are disgusting.

Look, I understand Homer. I listened to Ralph Kiner and the 1962 Mets games (40-120)

"Don Zimmer can really get around on the ball sometimes" (Batting average .077)

but this was just... I had to turn it off.
Maybe I have a Tivo of the Oprah show somewhere...

That doe sound like just a nauseating broadcast. I'd love to see Ehlo get an identity crisis by having to broadcast a WSU vs. Gonzaga rivalry. He wouldn't know whether to privately root for his alma mater or the team that he's paid to hype up (Gonzaga), and he'd end up fainting onto the floor in an inebriated state of ecstacy. Puke.

I have no idea how anyone can find Ehlo even moderately tolerable... Haha I guess he lives in a Spokane and they can't get anyone with a better resume to regularly fly out here and cover the games... And lord knows John "hermit" Stockton woudln't do anything like that Razz

I figured out a great way to watch this completely pointless game... The mute button silent silent silent

Won't work.

I'll know somewhere on the other side of that silence is some jerk saying:
"Few should have been COY, Bouldin.....blah blahblah

Ehlo literally just compared Ira Brown's game to that of "Dr. J"... Rolling Eyes

And we won't have to listen to them for a year, they have to go back to their hobbit holes in Spokane and prepare new ways to kiss Mark Few's @ss next year... That is unless of course Few ends up in Eugene or Tucson next year....

I just found Oprahs classic show on "jaw dropping jeans for every figure".

I'm set.

The difference is they are talking about Mike scoring 69 points and not Ira Brown.

And Ehlo ain't.... well he just ain't.

How anyone could think that Bouldin should have been POY over John Bryant... well, they would have to be Gonzaga fans.

Bouldin isn't even the 2nd best player on Gonzaga's team.

After the game the in-studio team back in Seattle discussed just that. The lead in was the Zags got robbed across the board from the "anchor" Angie "I miss being able to flirt with Brett Boone" Metnik... Thank god the actual analyst said (and I paraphrase)... "Bryant was absolutely dominant 5 20-20 games, leads the country in rebounding etc." and as for the 1st team, "The Zags run a pretty balanced offense, so it's hard to really pick a stand out"

Fair enough... But also a cop out, give me 15 mins on kenpom or god forbid ESPN and I could have figured that out... But i digress... At least K. Calabro and L. Wilkens actually know a thing or two about the game of basketball, making the UW game moderately watchable

What kind of idiot what pick Matt Bouldin as WCC POY? How about some guy named Eric Reveno?

http://www.spokesman.com/blogs/sportslink/2009/feb/18/bouldin-line-wcc-player-year/

How about former NBA coach Eric Musselman?
