Practice

Post by A_Fan on Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:41 pm

A recent post mentioned that outdoor practices have started for the women. As a newly retired individual I now have time on my hands and would like to attend some practices. Can anyone tell me when and what times practices are held?
Thanks!

Looked like practice was going on Thursday when I walked into Chiles about 6:00 pm.

Hopefully congrats are in order?

Welcome to the class of parasites on society!

You'll find it's a cushy job.

6:00 was near the end of practice. I think when classes are in session you can expect maybe 4:00.

Why not just call and ask?

From what I heard today, the team is in a 3-3-1 "practice" mode. Three days working out with weights, three days running, and one day of practice, per week. I could be wrong, but I think I heard that Saturday is the practice day. It sounded like the working out with weights is significantly more than in prior years, which reminds me of what I heard before the 2005 season.

Thanks. When I started planning my retirement 2 years ago, I was pretty sure I wouldn't have to look for that cushy job Geezer. Things sure changed. Let me know if you see any cushy openings.

I could call the athletic office, but it's much more fun to post a question here and see what merriment ensues.

That's actually a great sign then. I remember just before Clive won the first national championship, he talked about the need to be more physical and to foul a little bit more often. It really worked. Plus, we had an Abby Wambach-like competitor in Sinclair who was just able to bowl over the competition on through balls. I think that the weight training will help with that. Plus, without M. Rapinoe we'll need a lot of people to step up.
