Coach Rev on 95.5 The Game

Post by Stonehouse on Mon Feb 16, 2009 12:36 pm

He was on this morning... here's the link to listen to it:

http://vault.desjalogic.com/rcrweb/podcasts/sports/MSP_Hour3_2_16_09.mp3

It starts about halfway through... maybe a little bit before half.

It's a nice interview... talks a bit about his family, recruiting, improving players, TJ, expectations for this season and next. One interesting thing - he said the whole team is going to Australia this summer, which is very cool! I think foreign trips like that are allowed once every four years (I think we went to the Bahamas last time), and boy it couldn't come at a better time - we could really hit the ground running next season.

And I want to give a shout-out to 95.5 The Game - they have been really good to UP. Megan Rapinoe has been on a few times, Luke Sikma was on, Joel Sobotka was on, and now Rev. They have done way more for the Pilots than I can ever remember 1080 The Fan doing. So big ups for them!

Hey, maybe they'll find another Patty Mills while they're there.

The Australia thing would be great for the guys, and its nice that we can be thinking about post season options.

Rev admited to TJ being 5-8. The official line is 5-9 Very Happy

I sat next to Carmie in freshman history... too bad he left so soon, because I think he could have been a pretty good player.

Agreed, 95.5 has provided great coverage for us this year... but hey, we deserve it, right?! Smile

Rev will also be a featured guest on Comcast SportsNet NW’s ‘Talkin Ball’ show, live Wednesday @ 10 p.m. after the Blazers game...

Hmm - Rev mentioned a few other post-season options with the NIT and the CBI, which I gathered is the college basketball invitational. Don't know much about it, but post-season is cool. Of course, he's looking at this last home stand as an opportunity to guarantee we finish in the top half, then the last two as a means for securing second place and a bye to the semis. Then two game s at a neutral site. I like what he's thinking.

College Basketball Invitational

For 16 more teams that didn't get in the NCAA or NIT. We could be #98!
