I'm hoping, A_Fan, that all women's games you mentioned are at Merlo?

I wonder if there is a fifth game scheduled on the road.

Good question. I didn't ask, but assume the games are all at Merlo. I asked for the same info last year and got a similar response and all the games were at Merlo.

Good job, A_Fan.

The games you have mentioned ARE indeed at Merlo, according to the websites of the schools in question. It was only the times that were in question.

You've now solved that part.

No problem!

I went to a couple of practices last week and at that time the injury report had Emma Nelson in boot on one foot and Cassie not dressing down due to her back surgery. Unless the graduating seniors who weren't at practice show up for the game, the bench is going to be pretty thin today.

I doubt you'll see the Rapinoes, I think they have their degrees. Megan is gone for sure and Rachael would probably be out for injury anyway.

Perhaps we will see Korie. We will be mighty thin at central defense if she isn't there....

Remember we are the kings of adaptability. I think we will see some new faces in the back line. I am not as concerned with the beavers as with taking on the u-23s on the tenth. That will be real pressure.

For today, high pressure offense might be the best defense.

Great weather for a Merlo soccer match: Forecast says 62 degrees and sunny. I plan to be there to soak up some spring sun.

I heard Hallie Kreminski and Emma have been practicing in the back Not to mention Kristen Kelley and standout Michelle O. Along with Jessica and possibly Ellie reprising her role with the -20 team. Thats not bad for a spring team. And thats not even looking at the roster.

well, things didn't go exactly as planned. As it happens the men didn't start until 1:00, which meant the women started at about 3:00 and ended at nearly 5:00. for those of you who weren't there, it was a perfect Spring day, and made you glad to be a Pilot fan. I got to polish up my fur lined seat and just enjoy young people having fun.

for those of you who care, the Pilots beat OSU 3-0 on goals from Foxhoven, Schmidt, and Kreminski. Foxhoven's was a great finish off of a great run to the end line from Enyeart, Sophie's was he end of lots of pressure in the box, an Halley's was an unassisted stolen clear from the keeper. She showed lots of composure in not trying to blast it, but just place a slow roller from about 16 yards to an open net.

Pilots payed everywhere. Kreminski was a central defender and striker, Winters played at holding and attacking mids, Enyeart was an outside and attacking mid, Olivier was a holding mid and central defender, Sweeney was a central defender (possibly the shortest central defender since Tia Sharpe), and so it went. In fact, it was hard to tell what position players were in, because they switched so much. Players that played their normal positions did well, and players that played out of position did well considering. It was just a fun day.

OSU looked pretty respectable. they had some chances but just didn't finish. Linus Rhode is building a program and it was nice to see Michelle Voiland on the sidelines. It's going to be hard to root against that team. fortunately, we won't have to very often.

Spring is not a time to analyze too much, but just enjoy.

Gotta agree Geezer, beautiful day at Merlo and fun to watch players playing at some unusual positions. I was surprised by OSU, they did look competitive. Their keeper gave Kelsey a run for her money in the vocal department, she was quite the field general out there.

Also nice to hear the ring of aluminum bats and cheers coming from the baseball field.

I agree with half of that statement. I like a nice "crack" myself. Wink
