He was passing out "vote for this video" stuff at the women's game last night...but there weren't 4000 people there. I agree, it's very suspicious.

Does anyone else find it odd that over 10,000 votes have already been cast? Hypothetically speaking, if you were to get 10 of your friends to spend 3 hours voting for you by voting then deleting the cookie and then voting again, how many votes would that get you? Let's say each person does 2 per minute and clears 360 in 2 hours, totaling 3600 votes in all. For the low, low price of a 6 pack of beer or a 4 pack of red bull, I'd say it's a great return on investment for a trip to vegas.

I was noticing the vote totals, too... It doesnt seem to add up to me. Either total, actually.... I am wondering how accurate the vote totals are... it is real easy to inflate that sort of thing to try to make something look more important than it really is....

I bet if you have a friend in computer science or some other technology expert, you could develop a macro that would just spam the voting non stop... this is the risk you run by placing a general poll out there, instead of requiring a sign-in.

I mean shoot, I just timed it and I voted 4 times in a minute by deleting the cookie and voting again. And I'm not super techno savvy or quick with a mouse either.

The poll has been pulled from the frontpage at portlandpilots.com. Is the voting over? Or did the suspect voter turnout lead to its' removal?

Voting was supposed to go through the 15th, wasn't it?

Hahha lets just say a "truce" was reached... While i admit to engaging in some voting shenanigans, in no way do i have the processing power of a dorm full of college students and their ability to stay up til 4 AM wasting their parents money by stuffing the ballots instead of hitting the books...

So, what were the results of the truce?

It would be sweet if they both end up going to Vegas... cheers

I'm just SHOCKED that there were voting "irregularities" .

And, BTW, my offer to buy my vote still stands. I ain't giving it away for free. This is WORTH something...

I'm also offering my services for consultation on how to check for IP address as well as cookie registration for voting. I offer reasonable rates.

For a slightly higher rate, I can offer consultation on how to change your IP address at will.
