Re: Public Service Announcement
Everybody's got a hand out....
But seriously people, the "bailout" was supposed to improve the credit markets, not prop up cruddy business models and fake asset values. The government should not be trying to deploy a plan to prop up housing values - THE VALUE WAS FAKE, it's not real!! You can't prop up nothingness without creating the same amount of inflation.
I love it too that investing institutions and funds are really down on the new accounting guidance that forces them to state assets at their fair value because they will have huge write-downs and losses. Boo-hoo! Dude, it makes no sense to say you have a million dollars of assets when no one in their right mind would pay anything more than 600K for them. Do people not understand that if you are lying to the public if you don't tell them the ACTUAL value of your assets? That's the whole point of financial reporting! Whatever happened the idea that financial statements "present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of ABC Company as of DATE"?? If you don't report actual asset value, then your financial statements DO NOT present your position fairly.
And why on God's green earth should the government get invlolved in trying to stabalize these fake asset values? C'mon people! Think about it!

I already knew that.
But now YOU know. And knowing is half the battle.
(But they never told us what the other half was...)

Re: Public Service Announcement
I actually did buy a six pack of Rogue's santa special reserve the other week and had the last one last night - quite tasty, but a little salty at 11.99 for a sixer.

Re: Public Service Announcement
Wow, that is kinda steep!! I think I paid 2.99 for a 22 oz.... Oh and btw when you get here you need to try Widmer Brrr.... It's a 7.2% ABV red, and it's delicious!!! OH and the Bridgeport Hop Czar is in stores right now!!! (It's the B-Port IPA but TRIPLE the hops!!! and therefore 8.0% ABV!!)
Why do I feel like I get every thread off on a beer tangent whenever I can??
