She is apparently a great player from what I can find on google, odp region team member. Funny, I found an article from last year about how she dreamed of playing for UNC, I hope we will do.
So yes, small class but solid, I trust K and Eric. Unlike our neighbors in Gainesville who will sport a roster of 37 next year Shocked I would not be surprised if someone came over the pond and joined our squad next year, knowing K and his European connections.
Our biggest loss will be Sanna Talonen. But Toni Pressley, Tiffany McCarty and Jessica Price are all speedy and very talented, so I am not worried about goal production for next year. Our back line loses 2 starters, but I believe Julie Lancos, former national teamer, and Margo McAuley will step in and join Edwards and Stephan to form a formidable defense.

I can't help you with your other recruits, but I have been following Brockway for the last two or three years. She's from Stadium High and the Emerald City soccer club, and I put her on UP's watch list after she made some all-Washington lists as a soph. She did have injuries as (I think) a Junior, so that's why you may not have heard more of her and National teams.

There was a Tacoma Weekly article about her back then that quoted her as having UNC, Portland, and Santa Clara on her "dream" list of schools to go to, and at least two of those schools showed interest in her. I kept checking periodically, but the announcement a couple of weeks ago that she would be going way South was a surprise.

She's a good one, you will be happy she's there.

We never get recruits from Georgia, but that's working out OK Smile

How do you think we landed her, were other teams scared off because of her ACL injury. I just hope FSU offers Coach K a long term deal. We have a new AD, and recently our Track coach was given a multi year contract because of the teams recent success (Back to back to back national champions in outdoor track and field).

Don't worry FSU all young girls dream of UNC until they get old enough to know better. Very Happy

Agree with your statement about Coach K's ability to spot talent. He and Garrett are the two best at that I think. Yes I agree someone from Europe/Asia will decide to study and play at FSU. For our sake I hope she won't be Mimi quality.

Thanks for the informative post with the FSU scouting and status report.

BTW any AD that wouldn't hold onto coach K would be out of their mind. He put the FSU program on the map.

With the way the Asian countries are performing in the youth world cups, me thinks some college coaches are going to be in living rooms across Asia in the off-season.

The only Asian country you don't have to watch is Korea DPR. They keep the players under lock and key.

I can't exactly say why she went to FSU, except perhaps she didn't go to the "right" showcases and camps for some coaches. I think it may be that Krikorian made her feel more welcome....

She was one of the players that was a candidate for ms"X", if you have been following UP recruiting conjecture for the last couple of years.

He did put FSU on the map, but Coach Baker (now at Georgia) made the map. My co-worker has a daughter in the same class as Coach K's daughter, and according to him the Coach and his wife love Tallahassee, for whatever that is worth.

Whats not to like? Its a little humid for me but I don't have a lucrative coaching job there either. I just hope for the sake of the program they offer him enough compensation to stay. I would say most any program looking to get to the elite level would be glad to pick up his contract.

There was a bit of Gossip about a recruit that didn't fit in to what we knew about UP recruits last year and next, but it was about a player who would sneak in under the radar because of injury issues from the Puget sound area. year and details were uncertain, but we think it turned out to be Emma Nelson.

I think Penn State will burst back on the scene next year with the recruits they have coming in.

Penn State owes us a return game at home. So we will get to see them early in the year I expect.

Boaz Herzog weighs in on next season in his latest installment in The Trib.

Including a comparison I like between 2004-2005 and 2008-2009.

Enjoy!

I guess it's the Portland Tribune, but it's interesting that he highlights the three local recruits and ignores the one "big fish" in the entering class...
