why would you ship out a top rated team because there aren't any teams in the immediate area's even though you can draw dollar wise 10 x's the amount of money you would earn flying in 3 team's!! it's just illogical!!
thus, that is the ncaa idealogy, an dont't we all love it?!!

Does anyone know if the NCAA process is the same for all sports or does each sport have it's own unique NCAA confusion?

I hope President Elect Obama isn't only remembered for his pushing for a college football bracket tournament. Would love to see that (football playoff). A good first order of business!

They have some aspects in common, but each sport has a separate committee to select and seed, so that question answers itself.
