Tsao makes Buzz team of week

No surprise that Jessica is on the list for this week's Team of the Week at Soccer Buzz. Congrats to the birthday girl!

Well-deserved and overdue! When was the last time a back-line defender had 3 assists in one game -- from within the opponent's 18-yard line? I'm guessing: never. I am still waiting for Jessica to shoot a goal rather than make one of her deadly accurate goalmouth passes. It will happen.

Not to be a nit picker but one of those assists (Sophies header) was off the opponents endline and man it was a beauty.

(ahem) her assist to Rapinoe was a 30 yarder from near midfield.

And Elli had three unassisted GOALS coming out of the back against NAU this year. all from in or around the box.

Does that count for something?

OK OK so my version of reality is unique and perhaps not able to withstand cross-examination. Never is a long time but I did say 3 assists by a backline defender. (Ellie's goals vs. NAU are remarkable too.) What I meant by 18 yard line was that she was deep in the opponent's zone (not literally in the box) -- and passing to the goal mouth.
To simplify: heck of a game by Jessica! That is irrefutable.
