USD vs. Portland for the WCC Title!

One of them even had a drum – which irked a few of the USD fans around us.

I heard Villa wasn't going to be there and I have a niece in SD who had a drum .....so I thought it wouldn't be a Pilot game unless we had something to irritate the opposing fans and make the girls feel at home. What a hoot.

Did I mention I got to meet Lindsay Huie at the hotel the pilots stayed at. That was a treat. Such a class act like so many of our alums. Here is the Pilot Nation scoop. she is engaged and getting married in December. They grow up so fast

I'm almost as proud right now as I was when the Gonzaga fans were talking about the most annoying dans from other schools to have come into their gym and they said far and away "the louts from Portland".

I will never forget being stuck up in the corner of the zags arena, with all the GU students turned away from the court looking up at us because we were so loud. And the fantastic purplepride party before the game.

I'm thinking we broke some interstate commerce regulations by bringing those 1/2 barrels, but it was awesome! I think every GU student that came to our party was just taken aback that we brought up that many purple-clad students.

No doubt... easily one of my favorite college memories.

And how about marching around the gym before and after, singing the fight song? Or figuring out that if we banged on that aluminum wall stuff, it got REALLY loud? Or (best of all) blocking the parking lot as people were trying to leave? Oh man... how wonderful was that whole night? And heck, we nearly got the upset too. Pooh was on fire!!!

So what's the deal in Spokane? You're not allowed to cheer for anyone other than the beloved Zags?

I can rest assured I am in no way the rapscallion that goes by 54... And I would literally lose a limb before rooting for his precious quackers (although I do thank his grandpa for giving us tickets to go see a game ) ...we agree to disagree on that point. But yes I am indeed a Washingtonian, I guess the closest I have is 10 Things I Hate About You as the "must watch" movie, they actually considered my parents house for it. However I do adore Kindergarten Cop... does that count for anything???

Dammit why did I have to get strep throat the weekend of the "lout fest" in Spokane?? Haha oh original Purple Pride, how I miss thee...

But back to soccer... it's unfortunate Kendra played in parts of 6 games... She would be an excellent asset during the playoffs indeed...

Haha, and yes we were indeed Lager Louts, unless of course the Beer Docks had a special.... AKA a $25 keg o' Tecate... Haha but at least we took away the taps and kicked people out 15 mins before the game so the neighbors couldn't complain, we were conscientious louts at least
