It should be noted the forum passed some benchmarks this week.

Also crossed were the 1,000th topic and the 2800th post on the women's soccer forum!

I'm raising another pint of that Pliny the Elder I was raving about in clebration. Milestones to celebrate Happy0180

Russian River just made a big push in Portland, and it's actually available several places.

I know the Horse Brass on SE Belmont has it, as does County Cork on Fremont and The Moon and Sixpence on 42nd NE. The Lab on Hawthorne had it as a guest brew, as did the McMennamins on Broadway (E.). Probably other fine purveyors, too.

It will soon be available in bottles,(500ml) but the demand is so high they can't keep up.

They are also taking it to Seattle. This may be a problem, because I have heard they are having problems shipping enough. So far no problems where I have gone....

If you like things a bit less hoppy, the Blind pig is good, too.

I hear that.... mmm I could go for a half liter of Goldbrau about now... Perhaps we should try and petition it into the International Beer Fest next year...

Noted.... Although I did send an email to the festival organizers... And Stoney, we might have to just coordinate a shipment of Stiegl in to tide us over one of these fine weekends.... It would be worth it just to sip bottled memories...

Schmidt Beer...a look into the eyes of the goddess of love and beauty...

Anyone every taste this beer? (It's the one with the can that carries a label of wilderness animals.) When I first saw it, (it's from St. Paul, I think), I thought, lookout! Cheap, crappy beer ahead!

Turns out it was the best brew I ever had.

FANatic! Yes! A fellow Schmidt fan.

Schmidt "Deer Beer" is the best cheap beer out there, bar none! I have not been able to find it in Portland recently, but I have better luck in Washington.

Ah, Schmidt... such sweet memories... and the inevitable statement that someone would say upon their first (of many) cans: "Ohhhhh, this beer tastes like Schmidt!" Very Happy

OH Schmidt.... They sell it on the shelves at Safeway up here... Every time I have drank it I get this sudden urge to wear plaid and shoot things... That could just be me though...

Only drank it a few times about 30 years ago. But I'll never forget it. I didn't know it was sold in WA.

Kind of nostalgic for me. I was dating a tall young beauty, (yes, I could attract them in the old days before I started looking like Pappy*). We were in her basement, (it sure is starting to get warm in here), and she brought me one of her Daddy's beers.

I fell in love immediately! (With her, Knucklehead!!!) The beer was great though. I think we did a little more than just drink beer. Uh...this is a "G" site, so I'll stop there.

*Pappy, for the uneducated in here, is Popeye's Papa! geek

Your snide remarks and inflamatory comments are laughable. To prove my superiority over you, I challenge you to a thumb wrestling dual.

PS - I've actually seen DTR in a onsie...it was not pretty.
