Photo Slideshow of the Oregon Game

The new website definitely offers some really cool feature. Check it out:

Click on the "Details" link on the right side of the page in the row for the Oregon game, and a tab will pop open that has the recap, box score, and a photo slideshow. The pics are pretty sweet (Steve Gibbons - a long-time photographer for UP - is the man) and I'm pretty sure this will be a regular occurance. Definitely check it out.

Wow! Nice pictures. The new format is shaping up nicely.

One small niggle. The box score is wrong. It was McCluskie who went out in the 77th, not Olivier.

Requires QuickTime to see the photos, by the way.

For those of us trying to goof off at work and can't install programs like iTunes/QT, that's a problem.

Got to talk to Steve really briefly - always nice to talk to him.

Kinda like how NBC makes you download that Microsoft plugin to watch Olympic highlights?

Something else I noticed: If you click on the opponent's name in the schedule, it links to their website.

So where are your pics? I know you weren't up at a Mariners game like some people on here...

Thanks for the tip about the Details link leading to game photos. (I swear I see John "Bluto" Blutarsky Jr. in a kilt leading cheers.) The revamped Web site is loaded with fun features. UP is making a marketing push to ride the big wave created by Pilots women's soccer. Smart choice.

The stadium announcer got the substitution of Kelly for McCluskie wrong too. Not that jerseys 6 and 8 aren't somewhat similar but the two players look nothing alike. Call it a rookie error -- not being able to tell the rookies apart.
