NSCAA weighs in--
The coaches get their say.
Santa Clara does better here

I'll be surprised if Penn State satys that high--New coach, new system.

Location: Lowry the tailor lived there when boys were boys. In his day he was fond of the gun. He always carried his powder loose in the tail pocket of his coat. He usually had in his mouth a short dudeen; but in an evil moment he put the dudeen, lighted, in the pocket among the powder. Mr. Lowry was an eccentric man.

As usual, the coaches know better. It's amazing to see the variance in these two polls, but I guess it's not surprising for a sport like women's soccer... until teams start playing each other, it's really tough to know how they all stack up because information about the teams is just difficult to come by.
But it looks like the top 5 is pretty well set... UNC, ND, UCLA, Portland, and Texas A&M. Wouldn't surprise me if Santa Clara got into that top 5 after the first few weeks... Big 12 schools are always highly ranked but seem to always underperform. There are 4 Big 12 schools ranked right now, but I really think that top-to-bottom the Pac-10 and WCC are way stronger of a conference.
