Brandon McNeil

Brandon was just hired to be on the coaching staff. I'm not sure if he will be with the men or women, but either way, this is a great hire.

For those of you who don't know, Brandon played outside defense for the Pilots a few years back, and was the coach of the Lincoln girl's program that won the state title last year.

One thing Brandon didn't have as a player was blazing speed, but he was such a smart player that it didn't matter. He was still a linchpin in the outside defense of some pretty good Pilot teams. he was a very good playmaker in that role, too.

He seems to have been able to pass some of that savvy on and has done well as Lincoln's coach, too.

When he was a player, I remember sitting in the stands next to his father (spring game or preseason against UCLA), who told me he wanted to be a coach someday. I remember thinking at the time. "Yeah, that makes perfect sense".

Great hire.
